前言 

乒乓球运动于19 世纪后期起源于英国，流行于欧洲。它是由网球运动派生而来的。在20 世纪50 年代, 中国的乒乓球运动得到了飞速发展。在全国范围内开展了群众性乒乓球运动，使乒乓球技术水平得到了很大提高。1959 年中国优秀运动员容国团次夺得世界乒乓球锦标赛的男子单打冠军，标志着中国乒乓球运动在世界的崛起。 1961 年中国主办了第26 届世界乒乓球锦标赛。在这届比赛中中国运动员力争上游，一举夺取了3 项冠军，包括争夺激烈的男子团体冠军奖杯——思韦斯林杯。从此，中国乒乓球运动走到了世界前列。在20 世纪80 年代的5 届世乒赛中，中国运动员获得了金牌总数的80%。此后，乒乓球就成为中国的国球，中国运动员始终站在世界乒坛的。 当今世界乒乓球运动的发展不太平衡, 强盛的中国乒乓球队常常包揽各个项目的冠军。各类比赛的奖牌也主要集中在欧亚地区，不平衡的趋势仍在逐渐加大。为了推进乒乓球运动在世界范围内的普及和提高，促使乒乓球运动健康有序地发展，有必要帮助其他国家地区的运动员及青少年爱好者以科学的方法和先进的技术进行训练，使更多的人能够参与到这项运动中来, 使世界乒乓球运动更加繁荣。 本书就是本着把中国乒乓球先进的技术推广到世界，让全世界的乒乓球爱好者共享的目的而撰写。 

Foreword 

The sport of table tennis originated in Victorian England in the late 19th century and was prevalent in Europe. It was derived from tennis. In the 1950s the sport of table tennis in China developed rapidly. It was carried out as the mass sport across the country so that the technical level of table tennis was greatly improved.In 1959 the Chinese excellent athlete Rong Guotuan won the world table tennis championship of men’s single for the first time, which marked the rise of Chinese table tennis in the world. In 1961, China hosted the 26th world table tennis championships. Chinese athletes raced to the top in the contest, winning the three champions at a stroke, including the men’s team championship trophy, Swaythling Cup, which was the most intense competition. From then on, the sport of table tennis in China has walked to the front of the world. In the 1980s, Chinese athletes won 80% number of the total gold medals in the five times World Table Tennis Championships. Since then, table tennis has become the national sport of China;the Chinese athletes are always standing on the highest peak in the world table tennis. In today’s world, the development of table tennis is not very balanced; the strong Chinese table tennis team often sweeps the champion of each item. All kinds of medals are also mainly concentrated in Eurasian area. This unbalanced trend is still increasing gradually. In order to promote the popularization and improvement of table tennis in the world, and to accelerate the healthy and orderly development of table tennis, it is necessary to help the athletes and young lovers in other countries and regions with scientific methods and advanced technique training and enable more people to participate in the sport, making a prosperous development of the world table tennis. The book is written in line with the purpose that is to promote the advanced technique of our national sport to the world, and enable table tennis enthusiasts in the world to share it with us.
